Today was Baby Girl's Blessing, we had the opportunity to celebrate in our home with all of our family and it was so intimate and really went off without a hitch. I had my good friend Abby from AMP Cakes to make this STUNNING coconut and raspberry cake and everyone LOVED it. It was the centerpiece of the whole table and I couldn't have been happier with how it looked OR tasted! Thanks Abby! I also made Faux Petit Fours that I adapted from a Pinterest post here that were stupid easy. In a nutshell you buy premade pound cake, I got mine at Walmart that were individually packaged, 9 for 3 bucks- the cheapest I saw, and it was delicious. You cut off the crusts and slice the cake into small squares/rectangles. Make your own frosting, take several cups of powdered sugar and add water VERY SLOWLY until you have a good consistency to pour or drizzle onto your pound cakes without it all dripping off. The original recipe called for 4T water to 2C of powdered sugar and that was WAY too much in my opinion. I added another couple of cups of sugar to make it thick enough to stick. I then added some garnish and froze the petit fours until a few minutes before the party- they thaw FAST but freezing them keep the garnish from melting off. I used the same frosting, in a different color, to dip the bananas and the Oreos, then I garnished and drizzled another color of frosting over those. This was a SUPER easy party folks and it came together quick! Check out the pics and let me know what you think! xoxo
